Sabbath, September 30, 2017

We enjoyed a blessed Sabbath at Smyrna and hope your Sabbath was a joy also.

Our Sabbath services began with an opening prayer and a short devotional thought by Sister Ann Ford and then song service led by Brother Michael Brown. The chapel Sabbath School continued their services, which included a lesson study led by Brother Michael Woodward, and the online Sabbath School proceeded with a science demonstration by Pastor Allen Stump about taste and how we are to taste and see that the LORD is good. Our lesson study continued on the 1872 fundamental principle of the atonement, focusing on the final atonement now occurring in the most holy place.

Our Worship Service began with prayer and a congregational hymn. Brother Michael Woodward led the congregation in intercessory prayer, after prayer requests were shared. Then Pastor Allen Stump presented the sermon, entitled, “The First Angel's Message, Part 2, The Pillars of Our Faith.” The message is the second in a series on the three angels’ messages of Revelation 14. You may wish to view the notes for this important message here. We hope to post all the videos on the sermons in this series soon on our YouTube channel at:

God blessed us with a lovely fall day, and we continued our fellowship with a picnic at Twin Falls State Park.

Our memory verse for this week is Daniel 8:14: “And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.”

“The scripture which above all others had been both the foundation and the central pillar of the advent faith was the declaration: “Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.” Daniel 8:14.” (Ellen White, The Great Controversy, p. 409)

May your new week be filled with a close walk with God, even as Enoch walked, and let us remember to pray for one another. Special requests are for the salvation of our families and for the advancement of God’s work in France, Ukraine, and Serbia, which were recently visited by Pastor Allen Stump, along with Pastor David Sims in France and Serbia.
