Paul and Margaret Agyeman

Sabbath, June 30, 2012

The West Virginia camp meeting was held this last week with several highlights and excellent experiences, some of which will not be quickly forgotten.

Our featured speaker was to be Pastor Paul Agyeman from Ghana, Africa. But on the day before the camp meeting was to start, Paul's wife, Margaret had to have emergency surgery! in the Bronx, New York.  Many prayers ascended for Sister Margaret and by God's grace she was able to be well enough that she and Pastor Paul could travel on Friday to be at Smyrna for Sabbath!

The theme of the camp meeting as "Created for His Glory." Many different messages were given which covered the theme from various angels but all seemed to complement each other. One series on the seven churches of Revelation was specially interesting and included many e-slides showing the remains of these cities as well as counsel from Ellen White.

We were very thankful that two precious souls had taken their stand to live for Jesus Christ and were baptized Sabbath afternoon.

Perhaps the most memorial event of the camp meeting occurred Friday evening. While the week had been mostly hot and clear without rain, on Friday night, the wind began to blow with great strength and within a very short time a storm had blown down many trees, some upon power lines and phone lines. Several hundred thousand people, including Smyrna valley, were put out of power and phone service.

Though we had to close the evening meeting slightly early due to the lack of light, we were able to meet outside in a yard the next day and receive a blessing from the meetings.

We hope to have a complete list of the recordings we were able to make before the storm hit as well as the e-slides that accompanied some of the presentations available soon.
