Sabbath, June 27, 2009--Links to Prior Reports

Sabbath at Smyrna Valley was a beautiful day. Our Sabbath School began with prayer and song service, followed by a devotional by Sister Ann Ford on not being weary in well doing. The adult lesson study was led by Brother Leon Holt and finished the study on stewardship. Next week we will start a new study, possibly on the book of Revelation. The young people’s class began a study on the great controversy and a paper-cut illustration was used on the three hands in this world—Satan’s hand reached out for us, God’s hand reached out, and our hands, and we have to decided onto which hand we will grasp.

The worship hour also began with prayer and a congregational hymn. After an opening hymn and intercessory prayer, Sister Onycha Holt shared a story about the importance the Bible played in Faole’s life, Marvin’s life, and Priscilla’s life. Brother Dennis Robertson shared the worship hour message entitled “Teach Me, Lord,” about the need for God to teach us so that we might teach others and help them understand there is a better way of life than what the world has to offer.

Pastor Allen Stump was in Michigan this Sabbath, sharing messages on the three angels of Revelation 14. He has safely returned home and reports that the Lord blessed richly during the meetings.

Following the close of the service, many shared their thoughts and experiences by phone, and it was a blessing to hear from each one. We then shared a fellowship meal at Smyrna before departing for our homes.
